The IEx Consulting has a method for design the ventilation and pressurization of sheltered substation located in classified areas. This method is based on statistical bases.
 
THE METHOD
 
        This method is based on considerations about the thermal dissipation inside the room panels, considering the Load Distribution Centers, Motor Control Centers, lighting, etc.. The calculation is based on statistical concepts that relate the amount of heat generated inside the substation, air temperature which is used as fluid ventilation, and effective power transformers that feed the substation.
 
Having the data of the local where is situated the substation, one calculates the required air flow and as a result, one can measure the fan, the electric motor and other accessories which are part of the installation. The result is almost instantaneous.
 
This method was published in the journal "Electrical Construction and Maintenance" Mc Graw Hill.
